Lady Irene Montague
Sister Irene Patricia Montague is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She is the wife of Presiding Elder Ernest L. Montague for forty- six years. She is a mother of a daughter and son, (Patricia & Ernest, Jr.); grandmother of two grandsons, (Brandon Lee & Ernest, III) great-grandmother of one little girl, (Braylin Marie); mother- in-law (Felicia & the late Arron Whittington).
She is the product of the Baltimore public Schools, Graduated of Cortez Peters business School (Business Administration); Morgan State University (BS Degree-Education); Community Colleges of Baltimore City and Catonsville, Maryland. Her professional background includes: Teaching , Office Administrator, Accounting Specialist, Office Managers and Human Resource Administrator.
At her husband’s side, Sister Montague has been called the First Lady of three Churches (22 yrs.) and two Districts (10 yrs.) Sister Montague has held several positions in the MSWAWO, PKs in the Second Episcopal District: President: (Washington Conference-2yrs.) (Baltimore Conference – 2 yrs.) SED (9 yrs.) CONN-MS-WAWO, PKs, (Financial Secretary- 2 yrs.) During her tenure as President, there were numerous major accomplishments. Her goal is to serve the clergy families as they support the ministers of the AME Church. “To God Be the glory for the Great things He has done and will do.”
