Lady Lakesha Adams

Lakesha L. Adams was born in Charleston, SC to wonderful parents, Nathaniel and Rosena Gladden and enjoys four siblings.  Although her household was very full and busy, her parents instilled in them the desire to excel in education and to serve God.  Lakesha was very active at her home church, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, serving as an Acolyte, Choir Member, Lay Reader, Sunday School Teacher, Episcopal Church Women Member, Vestry Board Member, and Christian Education Director.  She also served on the Christian Education Board for the Diocese of SC.

Lakesha graduated from the Academic Magnet and Burke High Schools in Charleston, SC.  She went on to obtain her Bachelors of Science in Engineering Degree from Mercer University in Macon, GA.  Returning home to Charleston, SC, Lakesha went to work for the DuPont Company and obtained her M.B.A. from Webster University early in her career.  She is currently a Site Safety/Health/Environmental Resource with direct responsibility for environmental compliance, fire protection, and emergency response.

When Lakesha married her high school friend, now the Rev. Andrew R. Adams, II, she joined the AME Church at Calvary AMEC in North Charleston, SC.  They are blessed with 5 children, two girls: Tyran and Makaila; and their three very active boys: Andrew III (‘Tre’), Micah, and Eli. They now serve Mt. Carmel AMEC in Moncks Corner as Pastor, First Lady, and PKs.

Lakesha serves under the Episcopal Leadership team of Bishop Samuel L. Green, Sr. and Supervisor Phyllis N. Green as the appointed 7th District Episcopal President of the MSWAWO+PKs.  She previously served the Palmetto Conference organization as President, Treasurer, and Corresponding Secretary.  She is also active with the WMS as the Assistant Recording Secretary for the Palmetto Conference WMS, and an active Advisor to the local Emily C. Jones WMS.
